Troy Wood, Principle & Broker
A native Australian who arrived in the United States in 1997. He is a licensed real estate broker in Colorado and California. In early 2000‘s Wood was buying properties in La Quinta and Palm Desert and operating them as vacation rentals. As the market has shifted, so has the focus, from multi-family assets east and west coast to international investments in Costa Rica and Bahamas. Wood partnered up with investment partner Mark Dessy and formed Falcon Venture Partners, LLC.
A pilot of both planes and helicopters with multi-engine and instrument ratings. Wood has owned, managed and operated several multi-engine planes, jets and helicopters.
Prior to his career in real estate, Wood was a licensed electrical contractor and a Green Beret Commando in Australian Special Forces. Applying the skills he learned from his time in the military, he fulfilled a childhood dream by becoming a Hollywood stuntman. Wood worked as a stunt-double in many big budget feature films such as Matrix II, Rock Star, Daredevil, Van Helsing, Cat in the Hat, Kill Bill, Man of the House, Fast and the Furious 4 and many more. Wood is the step dad to two boys and has a daughter in high school with his wife. His passion is spending time in the mountains or camping on the lake with family and friends. Wood recently teamed up with a Southern California Multifamily company wanting to expand operations into the Colorado market.
Mark Dessy, Principle & Broker
Mr. Dessy has over 30 years of real estate construction and development experience. He began his career in Southern California in 1974, when he built, from the ground up, a seven store chain of office supply companies, all of which sold in the period from 1983-1987. His experience has spanned from building and developing of condominiums and Single Family Residences to the building and developing of shopping centers, commercial buildings, airplane hangars and aviation related businesses, such as fixed base operations and aviation fueling businesses.
In 1991, Mr. Dessy completed his first aviation hangar development in Torrance, California by negotiating a long term lease with the city and then building 70,000 sq feet of airplane hangars. He has since, acquired and built another 100,000 sq ft. aviation facility in Murrieta , California at French Valley airport. His most recent project is a 120,000sq ft aviation facility in Clearwater, Florida which is leased as the headquarters of a large aviation company. He continues to own and operate the Clearwater, Florida facility.
After establishing his self as a prominent builder and developer, Mr. Dessy set his sights on new endeavors. He started Maverick Desk Manufacturing, an office furniture manufacturing which specialized in manufacturing wood office furniture. The company grew at an exceptional rate and was considered a leader in the office furniture industry. It was then sold in 1998; however, Mr. Dessy continues to serve as a consultant and a board member for organization.
Mr. Dessy graduated from San Diego State University with a B.S. degree in Business Marketing. His has a passion for all things real estate and is excited about the current buying opportunities.
